Bryan Beard

Sir William Lord of Whitehall

Owner and Managing Director of Noble Cause

Bryan Beard is the owner/director of Noble Cause Productions. Patronizing faires since age 18 (shortly before earning his black belt in Tae Kwon Do), Bryan decided to make a career of his passion in 1990. Scarborough Faire was actually the first renaissance Faire Bryan ever attended. He is a Dallas native, born and raised. He was the very first native Texan hired to joust for the popular joust theme dinner restaurant in Dallas being hired literally days after ground was broke on it.

He served as squire and later knight under the tutelage of joust masters such as Richard Alvarez of the International Action Theater, Kent Shelton of the Hanlon-Lees, and Tino Brana of Medieval Times, before forming Noble Cause Productions in 1996.

Bryan has been jousting professionally for over 16 years and doing professional fight choreography for the last 11 years. Bryan has had the privilege and honor of being trained by and working with some of the finest fight choreographers and joust masters in the country. He has performed all over at renaissance and medieval festivals, the popular medieval theme dinner theaters, and as far away as China. He has also trained and certified with several top stage combat organizations in the country.

Bryan and several of his team spent 3 months opening and performing in a medieval tournament styled show for an amusement park near Shanghai, China. Bryan and several others of the Noble Cause team trained 65 non-English speaking Mongolians to joust, perform stage combat, and act in just 3 months. Earning them honorary Mongolian names and tribe status.

Bryan's approach to the business is to provide the best show available while keeping an open, friendly attitude. Though extremely serious about safety and theatrical intent, Bryan stresses keeping it fun for the audience as well as the performers.

Despite his position as owner and director, Bryan is the most approachable member of Noble Cause. Be sure to stop by the knight's pavilion at the show or look for him walking the lanes between acts and say hi..
