Preston Murchison

Sir Duncan Lord of Preston

Jouster

Murchison, our newest jouster, brings plenty of stage experience to Noble Cause.  Preston studied all aspects of theatre at North Lake College, including acting, stage craft, lighting, directing and design, and has done professional stage, film, and television work.  His stage work includes roles in "The Crucible", "Grease", "You Can't Take It With You", Shakespeare's' "Comedy of Errors", and "The Complete History of America (Abridged.)"  He has had the opportunity to work with Tony-award winning playwright and Oscar-nominated screenwriter Mark Medoff (Children of a Lesser God, Gunfighter), and his directing credits include "The Ugly Duckling" and "The Insanity of Mary Girard."

Preston is an avid Celtic musician, playing pennywhistle, bodhran, and djembe in various bands, including the Tartanic, a fan favorite at Renaissance faires across the country.

In 2004, Preston decided he wanted to do something "macho" for once in his life, so he caught up with Noble Cause owner Bryan Beard, whom he met in 1998 while on the cast of the Hawkwood Medieval Faire.  Preston began his training as a squire at the Colorado Renaissance Faire, and earned his spurs while at the Kansas City Renaissance Faire.

Preston currently makes his home in the Dallas area.  All stories about
Preston involving bears are exaggerated.
